hi,
this is SO great that you are doing this. I may know someone interested in guest blogging....
I just sent her the link!
What a great thing!!

Karen said...

I'm interested!

Brillig said...

What a fantastic idea. I'm so glad you pointed this out to me. I'd love to join in, and if you're still looking for guest-bloggers, I'd love to play that too. Just let me know! The button is going up on my site right this second...

Genevieve Hinson said...

Candace: that would be great. Please send em this way.

Karen: Would you like to post the button or guest post or both?

Brillig: Heck you're fast -- YES would love for you to guest post. Will add you to the list? I'm looking at the April schedule soon with who signs on and will toss some dates at you. K? BTW, loved your post. We searched so long for a name and you had it dropped on you like a bombshell it seems. Has to be a lot to digest. Reading your post, I know you're made of stern stuff. I'm so thrilled your child has you in his court. :)

I'd guest for you too if you need people!

I'll put up the button when I'm not on my laptop later. THANKS!

Thanks,

I can't WAIT until April. I always go to all the forums I belong to (Mostly those for haunted house owners) and post April being Autism Awareness Month. This gives me the opportunity to inform those about the disorder who are interested.

I've posted it to all my blogs:

Genevieve Hinson said...

Okay - I believe I've added all of you. Sorry for the delay, been under the weather here.

Thank you everyone so much for participating. If I didn't get your name or link up right, gimme a holler. I'll fix!

Shellie said...

Can I be added to the blogroll? I am going to stick up the button right now.

Genevieve Hinson said...

Certainly -- what is your blog name and link you'd like added?

Joker The Lurcher said...

can lurchers do guest posts? my lady friend and i have a boy who is autistic and has adhd, and the grown up peeps are also on the spectrum - himself being of the beefburger persuasion and herself being very adhd. and thank you for the lovely button! i will put it on my blog at bona vacantia

Bob King said...

Hm. I will no doubt be saying something about the issue during April, but I'm afraid that the puzzle-ribbon design makes me unwilling to participate.

Feel free to grab this design as an alternate. (you will be able to download this copyleft image from a link that will soon be there.)

UnPuzzled Autism Awareness Button
by

webcarve

If you do so, there are a lot of us who would link proudly.

Genevieve Hinson said...

Hey Bob -- Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Someone else had e-mailed me on it as well.

I wasn't aware the button stood for a 'cure' -- creating another one to put up without the puzzle. I'm all about awareness in April. It's only March and already I'm learning new things.

A bit crazy here today so might be tonight or tomorrow before I can get it up. Thanks for the FYI!

Genevieve Hinson said...

Lurcher - of course lurchers allowed :). You're added.

Debs - you're added.

Elissa - you're added

I'll be posting another option of a button soon -- so if you want one sans puzzle ribbon, come on back.

Thanks everyone for your participation. I'm really thrilled to see so many folks!

Hi bloggers! Anyone in or around Sacramento, California?? If so, I need your help!! I am helping organize the first ever Autism Speaks Walk Now in Sacramento, to be held in September 2008.

I am reaching out to families affected by children with autism and encouraging them to sign up for the walk. It is a great way to raise money for autism research and to bring autism awareness to our community.

You can check out the walk website at www. autismspeakswalknow. org

If you have questions on how to sign up for the walk or need tips on fundraising, email me at lmartin@palsautism.com

And please pass this information on to anyone you know affected by autism. Thank you!!

Hi Genevieve,
Would be pleased to contribute/be added to list, and would enjoy reading articles that show the scientific sides/causes of the spectrum.
Am somewhat aspergeric/autistic (and anarchic/atheist), and have already taken the button and installed it on my blog, (not suitable for little children/.) so for now, I`ll just nod a little and wait.
I rarely blog about my condition, as I figured it would be a tad self-obsessive, so I get obsessive about war and human rights :).
Peace.

This is a great idea. I am planning on doing a post a day for autism awareness month. (I am planning on posting a post each day with tips that have helped with autism. I am also planning on doing tips for friends of autistic families. Many people w/o the challange of autism do not understand or do not know how they can help - I want to do posts that will give them tips on how to help and be a blessing to families who live with autism on a daily basis.)

I am looking forward to April as you can see. Please include me!~

Blessings,
